How to Care for Swedish Dishcloths

By following these simple guidelines, you can keep your cloths clean and fresh for up to a year or more!

Lay Flat or Hang to Dry

After washing or rinsing, it's important to properly dry your cloths.  Lay them flat on a clean surface or hang them up to air dry.  They dry very fast preventing the growth of bacteria so there is no nasty odor!

Rinse by Hand

It is recommended to quickly rinse out your cloth by hand after each use to avoid dark stains.

Machine Wash

For a convenient option, toss your cloths into the washing machine with the rest of your laundry.  Our cloths can be washed up to 200 times.  Please do not put your cloth in the dryer (but if it happens, it's okay!).  Hang or lay flat to dry.

Boil to Sanitize

To ensure that your Swedish dishcloths stay clean and hygienic you can periodically sanitize them in boiling water.  Submerge the cloths in the boiling water for a few minutes, then remove and let them cool before use. This process will help eliminate any bacteria or germs that may have accumulated during use.

Microwave

In addition to boiling water, Swedish cloths can also be sanitized in the microwave.  Put a damp cloth into the microwave for 2 minutes and viola!  you have a germ free cloth.  Please let cool before removing.

Dishwasher

If you prefer to clean your cloths in your dishwasher, make sure to place them on the top rack. Once the cycle is complete, remove the cloths (they will be soggy) and squeeze out the excess water. Hang or lay flat to dry.

By following these care instructions, you can extend the lifespan of your Swedish dishcloths and continue to enjoy their cost saving benefits for months or even years to come!
